Hay stocks were at near-record lows as of May 1 in 2023 ... part 2

Are you considering changing hay?  When is a good time to switch?

We are finely aware of the market trends and in knowing the weather, the Hay Stocks, the growing season and many other factors that go into the production and selling of hay - were often asked that one great question, “I need to change hay … when is a good time?”

Because the hay business has become just that a business … the quality and consistency of hay does vary but it primarily changes due to quality control. Here at Harvest Feeds 1872 we want to prepare and educate our customers to the market.   Hay crops are purchased a year in advance … and are sold months later.   Here in Florida the crops you are feeding from April through December were purchased last season and sold this year.   There really is not a “perfect time” to switch … but you can switch if done with prudence.  We recommend a gradual change over to a new provider.  This way you have less chance of incidence or shocking the horses systems.  We purchase some of the best hay fields out West, Iowa, Michigan, Washington, Quebec to name a few.  We visit those fields and we talk with those growers … we spend time getting to know our providers and we build a rock solid relationship and pass that product on to you and your equine friends.

So if you are considering a change due to bad quality, a change in store hours, fluctuating hay prices … there are many reasons to warrant change … and while we honor all of our competitors they are our competitors and we are competing for your loyalty and your business.

We just happen to think and know we have the best hay via standards of the industry.

There is nothing worse than doing business with a company for a long time and then start receiving “less than” product.  Bad quality hay is just that bad quality hay.  It might costs a little less than the rich green stuff but if they don’t eat it it is wasted and cost extra time to clean up and haul away in those expensive manure bins!

Were doing everything we can to save you money and time. But one thing we can promise we will not send you “bad” hay.

From 1 bale to 21 bale bundle to the storage container full of 10 tons of hay delivered once a week or once a month our quality, variety, consistency and price strive to remain the same.

Harvest Feeds 1872 may be the new kid on the block but we are the experts at keeping our customer happy.

We welcome you to come visit and take a look at our products or give us a call to discuss your needs for 1 horse to 100 or more.

Harvest Feeds 1872 likes to say the more you buy the more we can save you on your hay dollars.  We have hay now, and we will the same quality hay through 2024 … we are buying contracts for 2025 and can assure you it will be the best hay in Central Florida.
